DENVER — Widely scattered thunderstorms will diminish overnight with skies becoming partly cloudy.

Low will drop to the low to mid-60s in Denver early Wednesday. In the mountains, lows will be in the upper 40s to middle 50s. Wednesday will be another hot day with highs in the 90s on the plains and in the 70s to low 80s in the mountains. Showers and thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon.
Moisture will increase over Colorado on Thursday, along with a weak push of cooler air from the north. The result will be a cooler day with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms. The risk for large hail and damaging winds will not be high, but locally heavy rain will be possible.
Temperatures will be cooler thanks to the clouds and storms. Highs in Denver on Thursday will stay in the low to mid-80s. In the mountains, temperatures will be in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
Friday will also be stormy, with a good chance for thunderstorms and highs in the 80s. The weekend will be warmer and drier with highs back into the low 90s.
