DENVER — The weather will be hot and dry across Colorado for the Labor Day Weekend, but a BIG change will arrive next week!
Temperatures will climb into the 90s to near 100 degrees for lower elevations through Sunday. Expect clear nights and plenty of sunshine during the day across the state.
In the high country, lows will be in the 40s with upper 70s to middle 80s in the afternoon through Sunday.
Denver has recorded 69 days of 90 degrees or hotter this summer. The tally is creeping closer to the all-time record mark of 73 days, set in 2012.
After a very hot and dry Sunday, temperatures will drop a little on Labor Day. Expect mid-to upper 80s in Denver with increasing clouds as a cold front moves into the state from the northern Rockies.
In the mountains, scattered showers will develop late Monday afternoon with colder temperatures by evening.
Depending upon the track of this next front, the northern and central mountains and the foothills west of Denver may see several inches of snow Tuesday and Tuesday night.
Denver and the eastern plains will have a chilly rain and much cooler weather on Tuesday with highs in the 50s! Some snow may mix with the rain Tuesday night - especially in the western and southern suburbs.
Skies will clear for the middle of next week with a slow warming trend.
