DENVER — Our mid-June Colorado weather pattern has settled into a routine of warm, dry mornings, building midday clouds and scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
Most of the storms near Denver will stay below severe levels for the next few days. Denver and northeastern Colorado will see scattered storms with brief heavy rain, small hail and wind gusts to 50 mph.
The southeast quarter of the state has a higher risk of strong to severe storms through early evening. Skies will clear across Colorado by early morning.
Temperatures will be in the middle 80s to lower 90s for Denver and the northeast plains, with 70s in the mountains. Nighttime lows will stay in the 55 to 60 degree range for Denver and the plains, with 40s in the mountains. Leadville will be a little colder with lows in the upper 30s.
There will be a push of higher humidity and an upper air disturbance crossing the central Rockies Friday and Saturday. There will be a better chance for severe thunderstorms on both of those days.
By Sunday and early next week, the weather will turn hot and mostly dry.
