DENVER — Our first full day of fall felt more like summer! A weak cold front will usher in some slightly cooler air today, but we'll still be about 5 degrees above normal across the Denver metro area this afternoon.

Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees this afternoon, but then heat right back into the upper 80s on Thursday. The winds will also pick up tomorrow ahead of our next front so fire danger will be higher especially in the mountains.

A stronger cold front will swing through on Friday. This one will lead to afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s, with a chance of scattered showers.

So far, the weekend looks great! Highs in the upper 70s under a mostly sunny sky on Saturday and Sunday.

The aspen leaves are changing in the mountains, but they are a little late this season so far. The recent warm weather has delayed the foliage a bit, but some of the aspen trees will really glow in the high country over the next couple weeks! Here's where to go to see the beautiful fall foliage.
