DENVER — From 61 degrees in Denver yesterday afternoon to snow today! You gotta love Colorado!
Roads have mostly been wet all day- since temperatures were so warm yesterday- the snow has been melting. Heavier snow is falling west and south of Denver so it could be slushy along the Palmer Divide and snowpacked closer to the Foothills. The side streets across the entire Denver metro area will definitely get tricky overnight.
City by city, it looks like 1-2 inches for Longmont, Erie, Greeley, Ft. Collins, Berthoud and Windor. About 3-6 inches are expected Denver, Arvada, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Commerce City, Thornton, Westminster, Aurora and Superior, and 4-8 inches are expected in Highlands, Ranch, Littleton and Parker. Five to 10 inches could fall around Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Kiowa, Larkspur, Monument and more than a foot in the southern Front Range foothills.
Our First Alert Action Day will continue until midnight tonight! Snow will taper off late tonight.
We will recover pretty quickly after the storm. Tomorrow will still be chilly under a partly sunny sky. Highs in the upper 30s on Saturday, but in the low 40s under a lot of sunshine by Sunday.
