Another storm system is moving into Colorado for Christmas Day. It will affect the high country...bringing between 6-12 inches of snow. We have a Winter Storm Warning for Monday through our northern and central mountains.
We could see over a foot of snow near Steamboat Springs! The central mountains are looking at about 6 to 12 inches of fresh powder for Christmas Day. This is on top of 1 to 2 feet of snow that has already fallen at the resorts in the last 24 hours. Be aware that there may be huge travel issues along Interstate 70 on Christmas Day if you have travel plans in the mountains.
Expect limited visibility, slippery roads, pockets of moderate to heavy snow and gusty winds.
Christmas Day will be dry and mostly sunny with morning lows around 10 degrees and the highs in the mid 30s.
Next week some warmer air will show up and our temperatures will go back into the 50s.
