DENVER — Showers continue in the western Colorado as tropical moisture moves into the Rockies from the southwest. This moisture is leftover from what was once Hurricane Rosa, swirling off of Baja California last weekend.

Showers and some thunderstorms will be widespread over the mountains tonight and Wednesday.  Some areas along and west of the Continental Divide may receive one to two inches of rain in the next 36 hours.

Flash Flood Watches continue for southwestern Colorado as the rain may cause some flooding of recent burn scars from the summer wildfires.

Most of the moisture with this system will impact the mountains and western sections of Colorado. For Denver and the eastern plains, skies will be partly cloudy tonight and Wednesday.  Lows will be in the middle 50s tonight and high temperatures will climb in the low to mid-80s on Wednesday.

A cold front will slide into northern Colorado late Wednesday and bring cooler, wetter weather for Thursday. Temperatures will cool to the upper 60s to lower 70s with the showers on Thursday.

Friday will be dry and pleasant with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s under partly cloudy skies.

A stronger storm system is set to impact the region over the weekend into early next week.  Showers will develop on Saturday and continue into Sunday.  This storm will be colder and will bring rain and snow to the mountains over the weekend.

Temperatures in Denver will be cooler over the weekend with upper 50s to low 60s on Saturday and just in the 50s on Sunday. In the mountains, temperatures will be in the upper 30s to middle 40s this weekend with a mix of rain and snow in the valleys and snow above 10,000 feet.

Depending on the track of the storm, there could be some rain and snow mixed in Denver Monday morning!  Monday and Tuesday will be quite cool with morning lows in the 30s and highs in the 50s.
