DENVER — A series of storms will bring snow and colder temperatures to Colorado starting today.
Saturday was cool and windy in the Denver area with highs in the low to mid-40s this afternoon.
The northeastern corner of the state is also under a Winter Weather Advisory until 5 am Sunday. Wet snow and strong winds will be the main concern. Snow accumulations will vary from a dusting to 3 inches. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible.
A stronger storm will then swirl into the state tonight and Sunday, featuring heavy mountain snow and the chance for a couple inches of snow in Denver and across the eastern plains.
Sunday, our high temperatures will only be in the low to mid-30s. Snowfall is expected to be light, with little to no accumulation in Denver. However, some areas closer to the foothills and over the Palmer Divide could see around 1-3 inches on Sunday.
Early next week will be cold with snow diminishing. Temperatures will remain very chilly, in the low o mid-30s throughout the week. Overnight lows are expected to dip to the teens each night.
