DENVER- Thunderstorms will diminish by around midnight across eastern Colorado and skies will be partly cloudy overnight. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s for Denver and the eastern plains, with 40s in the mountains.

Friday will begin mostly sunny, but still hazy with wildfire smoke.  By midday, some clouds will build over the mountains as a new round of thunderstorms begin to develop.  Most of the storms on Friday will be in the mountains and foothills, with only a few moving out across the eastern plains.

Temperatures Friday afternoon will return to around 90 degrees in Denver with 70s in the mountains.

This weekend, temperatures will be hot again, back in the mid- 90s for lower elevations and upper 70s to mid-80 in the mountains.  The plains should stay mostly sunny and dry, while scattered afternoon thunderstorms will be possible in the mountains.

There will be a slight increase in thunderstorm chances again early next week with temperatures remaining hot.
