DENVER — Today has brought record cold temperatures over eastern Colorado. Denver broke the record low for Oct. 15 of 20 degrees, set back in 1970, with a recorded low of 18 degrees early this morning.

After this cold start to the workweek, conditions will thaw out nicely! Monday night will be chilly in the 20s, but Tuesday will be warmer statewide. Expect highs back in the 50s on Tuesday with 40s in the mountains.

Dry weather conditions can be expected this week, with the only exception being a chance for a few rain and snow showers over southern Colorado with a weak weather disturbance.

Temperatures across the plains will climb into the upper 50s to low 60s for Wednesday and Thursday.  In the mountains, readings will be in the 40s to low 50s during the day and upper teens to mid-20s at night.

By the weekend should be dry, pleasant and warmer with highs in the 60s to low 70s!
