DENVER —
Thunderstorms roared again on Tuesday across portions of eastern Colorado. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued from 2 PM until 9 PM across most of the plains and several storms kicked up strong winds, hail and heavy rainfall.
The storms have mostly diminished, but a new band of thunderstorms will develop over the northeast corner of the state late tonight. A few showers may develop along the Front Range early Wednesday.
Temperatures will drop to the mid-to upper 50s in Denver and along the I-25 Corridor by morning. In the mountains, lows will be in the mid-40s to around 50 degrees, although a few of the high valleys may dip into the upper 30s!
The stormy pattern will not be as prevalent on Wednesday, with just widely scattered storms on Wednesday. The possibility of severe storms and large hail will be lower due to some drier air at the surface and warmer temperatures aloft.
Warmer and drier weather will return for Thursday, Friday and the weekend with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for Denver and the eastern plains.
In the mountains, temperatures will return to the upper 70s to mid 80s. The dry weather will keep fire danger elevated.
