First Alert Action Day: More cold and snow for Denver

DENVER — Light snow and very cold temperatures will combine to make the roads slick tonight - allow extra time for you driving.

The light snow will diminish tonight after accumulating to a couple inches around the Denver area - heaviest west and south. Skies will clear by daybreak with lows tumbling to the single digits for early Thursday. Snow will be the heaviest over the southeast quarter of the state with up to 5 inches expected.

Skies will be sunny on Thursday, but the temperatures will remain chilly - just low to middle 30s in Denver.

Dry and warmer weather will return for Friday as highs bounce back to the 50s under sunny skies! Sunshine can be expected in the mountains with highs in the upper 30s to middle 40s - a great day for skiing!

Clouds will increase on Saturday as a new storm system begins to move toward Colorado from the west. Highs will still be close to 50 in Denver, with 30s to low 40s in the mountains.

More snow is likely on Sunday with highs in the 30s. This storm may drop a few inches of snow in the Denver area - we will keep an eye on it.

On Monday, skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will stay chilly, with highs in the upper 30s.

Yet another storm is likely Tuesday - with more cold and snow!
