DENVER — It's been a bitter cold start to the week. Highs Monday only climbed to the upper teens across the metro and morning lows will be in the single digits to near zero degrees.

In the high country, more than two feet of snow fell over weekend and avalanche danger will remain high. Dry conditions are expected through the day, with more snow moving in tonight and Wednesday.

Around the Denver metro-area, temperatures will gradually climb as the week continues. Highs will be in the mid-30s under a partly cloudy sky today. Then, highs will rebound to the middle 40s Wednesday, and 50s Thursday and Friday.

Along with the mountain snow tonight and Wednesday, there is a slight chance of flurries on the plains. Otherwise, the week looks quite a bit warmer and drier.

A new chance for snow will arrive statewide Friday night and Saturday. The storm for next weekend does not appear that it will be as cold or as strong as the last one!
