DENVER — Temperatures tumbled by 35-40 degrees in the wake of the strong cold front that swept across Colorado. A band of snow has developed that will drop an inch or two of snow early tonight before skies clear before daybreak. It will be a very cold night with lows in the teens and low 20s. Roads may get pretty slick, especially along the I-25 Corridor from Denver to the south.

Friday will be cold in the morning with some slippery spots expected. Skies will be sunny and temperatures will rebound a little - back to the lower 40s. Some high clouds can be expected later in the day as warmer air begins to move back into Colorado from the west.

The weekend will be nice across Colorado as temperatures warm up. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s on the plains and 40s to near 50 degrees in the mountains.

Sunday will be a pleasant day with highs back in the mid-to upper 60s for Denver and in the 50s in the mountains.

Monday and Tuesday will be warm and dry with highs around 70 degrees for lower elevations and in the 50s in the high country.

The next storm system will begin to move into the central Rockies later next week. Clouds will increase on Wednesday and some rain and snow will develop Thursday and Friday.
