DENVER- FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY:
A record afternoon high for Denver today at 74 degrees- last set in 1934. Our normal high this time of year is 44 degrees.
A big change will come Sunday night as a powerful cold front slices through Colorado. Expect much colder weather with snow on Monday. Temperatures will tumble Monday and Tuesday with highs only in the 20s to lower 30s. Tuesday morning will see lows in the single digits in Denver - a 60 degree drop from Sunday afternoon.
Because of this storm, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued east of I-25 for the metro and eastern plains. West of I-25 there is a Winter Storm Warning for the foothills and western suburbs of Denver.
Snow totals will be around 4-8" for metro Denver..from Boulder up to Evergreen and Georgetown we could see 6-14" of snow.
This will be the heaviest snow since late November! In the mountains, moderate to heavy snow will be likely for several days next week.
Tuesday will stay cold with flurries, followed by clearing skies on Wednesday, but continued chilly temperatures.
A slow warming trend will finish the week with highs back to 50 degrees by Friday.
