DENVER — The overall weather pattern will not change much through the weekend. Highs will be in the 90s for Denver and triple digits over the southeastern plains. Mountain areas will be in the 80s, with 90s in the Western Valleys.
Skies will be sunny in the morning, with a few thunderstorms developing on the far eastern plains in the afternoon. Be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and be careful with any outdoor burning during this hot and dry period.
The hot and dry weather will be accompanied by a gusty southwest wind - increasing on Sunday to 20-30 mph. The FIRE DANGER will be extreme all across the state by Sunday!
A cooler weather pattern will move back into the central Rockies early next week as a cold front moves through the region. Sadly, the front will not bring any moisture, but it will at least drop temperatures back closer to seasonal normals Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 80s.
Moisture will return to Colorado by Wednesday and Thursday with a good chance for showers and thunderstorms.
