Cooler weather on the way for the weekend

DENVER — A weak cold front will slip into Colorado tonight. Some scattered rain and snow showers will develop over the northern mountains and the northwest plateau after midnight. Lows will be in the 20s to low 30s in the mountains and 40s for Denver and the eastern plains.

Breezy and cooler weather will return on Friday as the cold front moves through the state. Expect light rain and snow in the northern and central mountains through midday. In Denver, expect partly cloudy skies, a slight chance for showers in the afternoon and highs in the middle 60s.

Mostly sunny, mild and dry weather can be expected across Colorado on Saturday with highs in the upper 60s in Denver and 50s in the mountains.

A storm system will move into Colorado on Sunday with a chance for showers in Denver and 4 to 8 inches of snow for the northern and central mountains.

Temperatures will be in the 50s in Denver with upper 30s to low 40s in the mountains.

Mild and dry weather will return to Colorado early next week.
