DENVER — A front is moving into Colorado this Sunday. 6 to 12 inches of snow are likely for the mountains through tonight. Denver and the eastern plains could see some light rain showers or a flurry late in the day, but otherwise just some clouds and slightly cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the low to mid-50s for lower elevations with upper 20s to low 30s in the mountains.
Winds will be very strong from the west on Monday as skies clear. Temperatures still remain above normal, in the low to upper 50s over the Front Range and plains. After a gusty start to the week, expect more mild and dry weather through Friday.
A westerly flow aloft continues to block the colder Arctic air masses from moving into Colorado. Mild air masses from the Pacific will continue to move across the state. We will keep an eye out for any pattern changes, but for now - January Thaw!
