DENVER -- It has been hot and dry across Colorado with highs in the mid to upper 90s in Denver and low 100s over the southeastern corner of the state. Even in the mountains, highs reached the upper 70s to low 80s Tuesday afternoon.

Warmer weather will return for the weekend with lower rain chances. By Sunday and Monday, highs will be back into the mid-90s in the Denver area and across the eastern plains.
