DENVER — Lingering snow-showers will come to an end across Colorado early Tuesday. Roads may be snow-covered and slippery in the mountains and a bit slick on the plains in areas where the heavier snow-showers drop some minor accumulations.
Skies will be clearing by early Tuesday with single digit lows in the mountains and teens on the plains.
The latest storm cycle is winding down for the central Rockies and mostly sunny skies can be expected for Tuesday. It will stay cool, with afternoon highs in the 30s to low 40s on the plains and 20s in the mountains.
A new storm is slowly moving toward California and will begin to bring more rain and snow to the West Coast this week. This next storm will be weak and slow moving, so it will not create as much flooding for California. The slow motion of the storm will keep Colorado from getting snow for a couple of days.
There will an increase in clouds on Wednesday and a chance for some snow Wednesday night and Thursday, but amounts will be light to moderate. Denver and the eastern plains, could get some light snow or flurries on Thursday, but not a major storm.
Temperatures will slowly moderate this week, but still only reach the 30s to middle 40s through Friday. Another weak storm system will bring a chance for light snow in the mountains on Friday and in the Denver area on Saturday.
None of the storm systems coming our way this week will be very strong, but they will help keep some of the powder fresh for skiing in the mountains!
The long range trend does look warmer and drier for early next week.
