Warmer through Saturday, cool and wet on Easter

DENVER — Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight, with a few showers and thunderstorms over Denver and the eastern plains. Lows will drop to the mid-to upper 30s by morning for the Denver area.

Scattered snow showers will be possible in the mountains overnight, with lows in the 20s.

The weather will stay a bit cool on Thursday and rather windy. Highs will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s in Denver and in the 40s in the mountains. A few showers will be possible in Denver and across eastern Colorado. Winds will be gusty from the northwest at 15-30 mph.

Warmer and drier weather will cover Colorado on Friday with highs climbing back to the low to mid-70s in Denver. In the mountains, temperatures will be in the middle 50s to low 60s - a delightful spring day!

Saturday will also be warm with highs in the low to mid-70s. Clouds will increase during the day as the next storm system begins to move into the state. Some rain and snow showers will develop west of the Continental Divide later in the day.

A storm system will bring a chance for rain to Denver on Easter Sunday, with snow for the mountains. Temperatures will be cooler on Sunday with highs in the 50s for Denver and the Eastern Plains. Sunrise services will not be very sunny - expect cloudy skies, a chance for rain and temperatures around 40 degrees.

Monday will stay cool and unsettled with light rain and even some snow possible for Denver. A few inches of snow will fall in the mountains. Highs will only reach the upper 40s in the Denver area, while the mountains stay in the 30s.

Dryer and milder weather will return next Tuesday and Wednesday.
