DENVER — Windy and cold weather to start December as a cold front sweeps through the Rockies. This front will not bring much moisture, just scattered snow showers and a cold north wind through Wednesday.

Snow amounts will stay on the light side, the mountains may see 1 to 2 inches, while Denver and the eastern plains will get a dusting to less than an inch.

High temperatures will dip into the upper teens Wednesday morning in the Denver area. Nighttime lows in the mountains will be in the single digits.

Wednesday will be windy and cold for the eastern half of the state with some snow flurries. Expect highs in the upper 20s to low 30s. West of the Continental Divide, skies will be sunny with highs in the 30s to low 40s.

Skies will be clear on Thursday, with highs in the low to mid-40s.

Dry and warmer days are expected Friday through next Tuesday, with highs back in the 50s — maybe even low 60s!
