Great weather, but a big change is coming!

DENVER — Tuesday was another beautiful day across Colorado with highs in the 70s on the plains and 50s to near 60 in the mountains. Skies will be clear tonight with lows in the 40s for lower elevations and 20s to low 30s in the mountains.

This mild weather will begin to change on Wednesday as a weak cold front moves across northern Colorado, dropping temperatures by about 5 to 10 degrees. Expect highs in the low to mid-60s in Denver and across the northeast plains. Dry weather will continue, but there will be an increase in high clouds during the afternoon.

Thursday will be cooler with some light to moderate snow in the mountains and scattered rain shower for Denver and the eastern plains. Highs will drop back to the low 50s in Denver and be in the 30s in the mountains.

The weather will change to cooler and more unsettled Friday and Saturday with rain and snow showers for the mountains and scattered rain showers for the plains. Highs will be in the 50s to around 60 in the Denver area and in the 30s to middle 40s in the mountains.

A stronger and colder storm system will move into Colorado for Easter Sunday. Much colder temperatures can be expected with highs in the 30s. Snowfall in the mountains should be in the 5 to 10 inch range with 2 to 4 inches expected for Denver and the I-25 Corridor.
