DENVER —Temperatures have been slowly warming with highs in the low to mid 70s Wednesday and around 80 degrees on Thursday. Friday will be slightly cooler with an increase in clouds. A weak cold front will usher in some cooler air for the end of the week. We'll see mid to upper 60s on Friday.

This weekend should be very nice as September draws to a close. Expect sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the 80s for Denver. The mountains will be dry, with highs in the 60s. We will have chances for rain showing up next week.

The aspens remain pretty in the mountains! The central and southern mountain areas will be reaching peak color for the next five to seven days. Northern areas are past peak, but still feature some pretty pockets of color.
