DENVER — It is officially Fall, but it's going to feel more like summer through the end of the week!

Highs Monday reached the mid and upper 80s across the Denver area and eastern plains, with 70s in the mountains.

Scattered storms and showers will mostly be over higher terrain through tonight, with the slight chance for a few isolated thunderstorms over the metro-area and plains.

Unfortunately, only light rain is expected along with locally gusty winds and some lightning. Otherwise, a dry weather pattern is expected to continue, with clearing skies overnight.

Smoky and hazy conditions will return to the Front Range Wednesday. Expect reduced air quality, along with warm temperatures. Highs will be in the low to upper 80s tomorrow. The dry and unseasonably warm weather will remain through the week, with high 80s and the chance for a high of 90 degrees on Friday afternoon.

By the weekend, a weak cold front will move through Colorado to bring temperatures back to near-seasonal averages, with upper 70s to low 80s expected into early next week. The front will not bring much moisture, so the overall dry pattern will continue.

The warm and dry weather pattern means we still have to be extremely careful when it comes to fire danger.
