DENVER — Saturday, high temperatures were  in the low to mid 80s for Denver and 70s in the mountains. Autumn officially starts at 7:54 p.m. on Saturday. The weather should be very pleasant with sunny skies and temperatures warming to the upper 80s on Sunday.

The aspens are really pretty in the northern and central mountains! It is a nice time to get up to the high country and enjoy the annual display of aspen gold, especially in areas along and north of I-70. Southern mountain areas will be reaching peak color in another seven to 10 days.

Early next week a cold front will push into the state with showers likely on Monday and maybe a little snow for the mountains! Highs will be in the 60s (!!!) in Denver with 40s to low 50s in the high country.

Mild and dry weather will return for the middle of next week.
