Warm but too dry!

DENVER — Warm and generally dry weather will hold across Colorado for most of this week.

High temperatures soared into the upper 80s to low 90s along the Front Range and across the eastern plains under a partly cloudy sky. Only a very few light showers or brief thunderstorm managed to pop up anywhere in Colorado.

The warm and generally dry pattern will continue for most of this week as the storm track is currently well to the north of Colorado. The warm and dry weather has increased drought conditions and fire danger over much of Colorado.

Little relief is seen in the next few days, although a minor cold front will slip across the state Wednesday night and Thursday and bring a chance for some showers along with cooler weather heading into the weekend.

The aspen leaves are beginning to change in the mountains, but they are a little late this season so far. The cool and wet spring has apparently delayed the foliage a bit but it will not be long before the aspen trees begin to really glow in the high country! Here's where to go to see the beautiful fall foliage.
