DENVER —The weather will be affected by a series of fast moving cold fronts for the next several days. These fronts will race across Colorado from the Pacific Northwest and bring periods of snow to the northern and central mountains and a few showers for Denver and the eastern plains.
The first of these fronts zipped across the state during the day and has brought snow showers to the mountains with a few inches reported along and north of I-70. Denver and the eastern plains only had gusty winds and an increase in clouds as the front moved through the area.
Friday will be dry and mild across Colorado as the front zips off to the east. Highs will be in the low 60s in Denver and in the 40s to low 50s in the mountains.
The weekend will bring another front into the state with a chance for rain and snow showers in Denver, while 4 to 8 inches of snow will be likely in the mountains. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the northern and central mountains Friday night and Saturday for the snow
Highs on Saturday will be cooler in the upper 40s to low 50s for lower elevations and 30s in the high country with a gusty northwest wind.
Sunday will be a dry and pleasant day in between these fast moving fronts. For Denver - a good day for the Broncos to get back on the winning track at Mile High! Temperatures will be in the middle 50s on the plains and 40s in the high country.
Another cold front will move across Colorado on Monday with some showers possible in Denver and a few more inches of snow for the mountains.
Tuesday will be dry and quiet, followed by more rain and snow chances with another fast moving cold front on Wednesday.
