DENVER — It was a gorgeous weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day - but a passing storm system has brought scattered showers and thunderstorms to Colorado and even some snow above 10,000 feet. The weak storm system will exit the state early Tuesday with warmer and drier weather expected.

Tonight will be cool as lows fall to the 20s in the mountains and upper 30s to low 40s for the Denver area. Farther to the east, lows will dip to the low to middle 30s near the Kansas border.

Tuesday will start with some areas of clouds on the plains, but skies will clear and temperatures will bounce back to the 70s in the Denver area and along the I-25 Corridor. Some cooler conditions can be expected farther to the east with clouds lingering longer across the far eastern plains - highs will be in the 60s.

In the mountains, expect highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Western Colorado should reach the lower 80s in Grand Junction and Montrose!

Wednesday will be warm and mostly dry with highs in the 70s for Denver and vicinity. Thursday and Friday will be a little cooler with a better chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Warmer and drier weather can be expected again over the weekend and for early next week!

Right now, there is no extreme cold in our 10-14 day forecast — good news for gardeners!
