Thursday morning was the coldest of the season across Colorado! Antero Reservoir tumbled to 48 degrees below zero just before dawn! Bitter cold, but well shy of the state record of 61 degrees below zero, set in Maybell on Feb. 1, 1985.

Other frigid numb-brrs included -33 degrees in Kremmling and -26 degrees in Fraser. Even the eastern plains felt the extreme chill as Fort Morgan dipped to 21 degrees below zero. At DIA, the official low was 11 below zero, the coldest of the season, but well above the record of minus 18 degrees, set in 1883.

Tonight will be another very night with lows of zero to 5 below along the I-25 Corridor and 15-25 degrees below zero in the high mountain valleys.

The cold air mass will ease it's grip on our region by Friday with highs back near freezing. Expect dry and milder weather over the weekend with highs in the 40s on Saturday and 30s on Sunday. By early next week, temperatures will return to the low 50s.
