DENVER -- The threat of severe weather has shifted to the east and temperatures are now on the rise!  Sunday's storms will be the last for several days as a ridge of high pressure settles in and brings hot and dry weather this week.

Monday was delightful! Mostly sunny skies and warm with highs in the low to mid-80s.  This will be the coolest day of the week, highs Tuesday through Friday will be in the mid to upper 90s with 100 degrees possible on Thursday.  If the high reaches 100 on Thursday, it will set a new record - beating the old mark of 99 degrees, set in 1986.

Drink plenty of water and don't forget the sunscreen!  There are no fire alerts in place, but fire danger will get higher this week.

Also remember to NEVER leave a child or a pet inside of a parked car during this heatwave.  A close up vehicle car quickly warm to 120 degrees in just a few minutes!
