DENVER — Severe thunderstorms are likely across northeast Colorado this evening as a cold front races across Colorado. Some severe thunderstorms will be possible across the northeast corner of Colorado, western Kansas and Nebraska. Higher humidity in these areas will combine with the cold front to provide more energy for strong storms.
Denver and the Front Range will see a few thunderstorms zip through the area, followed by clearing skies. Behind the cold front, gusty northwest winds will bring a "taste of fall" to much of Colorado tonight and Thursday.
Temperatures will dip down into the upper 40s Thursday morning in Denver, in the mountains, a little snow may dust the northern peaks overnight with lows in the low 30s!
Thursday will be a beautiful day with blue skies, plenty of sunshine and very comfortable temperatures! Highs will be in the 60s in the mountains and 70s to low 80s across the plains.
A warming trend will return Friday through the weekend with highs back into the 80s under mostly sunny skies. Sunday might be the last of the really hot days with highs expected around 90 degrees!
