DENVER — Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed over northeastern Colorado late Monday and dropped brief heavy rain, small hail and produced quite a nice lightning show!  The storms will end overnight, but more wet weather is on the way.

Our next storm will spread more showers and thunderstorms across the state on Tuesday.  Temperatures will be cooler tomorrow, with highs in the 60s in the Denver area.  The mountains will see a rain/snow mix, with highs in the  upper 40s to middle 50s.

A few strong thunderstorms may develop across northeastern Colorado Tuesday afternoon.  May is one of our stormiest months, so we are now entering the time of year to keep an eye to the sky and trust Denver7 to bring you the latest on any severe thunderstorm threat.

Wednesday will be cooler with rain on the plains and snow in the mountains, expect highs in the 50s. Rainfall will probably be in the .50" to 1.00" range - very welcome for Colorado!

The showers will taper off on Thursday with some clearing late in the day.  Warmer and drier weather will return for Friday and continue for the weekend.
