DENVER: First Alert Action Day for strong storms on Saturday-along with a cool down.

We will really feel the difference in our temperatures on Saturday. Cooler air  moves in and highs drop into the mid to upper 70s for the day. Temperatures will be back in the 70s for the mountains this weekend too.

The storms that develop this afternoon could turn severe.  There is a chance for severe weather across the entire Metro Area. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Denver and the plains until 9pm tonight. There is a threat for large hail and heavy rain with these storms as they show up. Sunday, skies clear state-wide. Highs will be in the mid-80s in Denver and across the plains. Winds will remain relatively calm.

More hot and dry weather will return to Colorado early next week.  Temperatures will climb back into the 90s through the 4th of July holiday and remain for most of next week.
