DENVER — We had another dry, mild day for Denver on Thursday, but we are tracking another storm that will bring more snow to the state starting this evening.
We are issuing a Weather Action Day for Friday to keep you ahead of this next storm.
This next storm will not be a major one, but should freshen up the ski areas with about 3-6 inches of snow north of I-70 and 1-3 inches farther to the south. Denver and the eastern plains will probably see an inch or less on Friday. Although the snow will be light- it may affect your driving times or afternoon/evening activities Friday night and Saturday morning.
Clouds will increase tonight and snow showers will develop in the mountains during the evening. Clouds will also increase for the Front Range and the plains this evening.
Thursday night and Friday will be windy and colder with the light snowfall. Highs will be in the 20s in the mountains and Friday and 30s on the plains. Be prepared for iced-over roads as temperatures drop Friday night and early Saturday morning.
This will be a quick moving storm though. It will clear completely for the Bronco game on Saturday.
Temperatures for kickoff will be in the mid 40s with sunshine at Empower Field.
Sunday highs will be near 50 degrees with sunny skies. Monday will stay mild, followed by colder weather and a chance for snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day should be dry and cold.
