DENVER — A storm is slowly swirling off the California coast and will bring more rain and snow to the West Coast.. This storm will be weak and slow moving, so it will not impact Colorado until closer to the weekend.

A cold front is dropping south from Montana and will move across Colorado on Wednesday.  This front is pretty dry, but it should bring some light snow to the northern and central mountains late tonight and Wednesday and a few flurries to Denver and the northeast plains Wednesday afternoon.

Temperatures will be cold, with lows zero to 10 above in the mountains and in the teens on the plains.  Wednesday will stay pretty chilly with highs in the 20s in the mountains and upper 30s to low 40s for Denver and the eastern plains.

A little snow should fall Wednesday night and early Thursday with a half an inch or less on the plains and a couple inches in the mountains.  Thursday will be cold with highs in the 20s in the mountains and low to mid-30s in Denver.

Temperatures will reach the upper 30s to low 40s on Friday and Saturday.  Another weak storm system will bring a chance for light snow in the mountains on Friday and maybe a few flurries in the Denver area on Friday night and early Saturday.

The long-range trend does look warmer and drier for Sunday and early next week with highs returning to the low to mid-50s in Denver by Monday and Tuesday.
