DENVER — Starting tonight, skies will stay clear and quiet with no precipitation expected across the area, in fact, the next full week looks dry from start to finish. After a chilly start to the day, temperatures have warmed up nicely this afternoon, especially in spots where morning fog and haze cleared out early. It’ll be a cool but calm evening ahead, with lows dipping back into the 30s for most lower elevations and cooler in the mountains.

Thursday brings another cool fall day as a weak front slides through the region in the morning. Don’t expect any moisture with it, just some cooler air and a bit of a breeze, especially across the plains. Highs will top out in the 50s for most lower elevations, with a few low 60s possible south of the Palmer Divide. The breeze should ease later in the day, but the cooler air will hang around through the night.

Friday will stay on the cool side, with temperatures running a little below average for late October. Clouds will increase slightly, and mountain areas will see gusty winds as a jet stream passes overhead.

Gusts up to 35 to 55 mph are possible over the higher peaks, while the plains stay breezy but manageable. Despite the wind, skies will remain dry, and the weekend still looks to bring some much nicer weather.
By Saturday, high pressure builds in from the west, kicking off a warming trend. Temperatures will climb back toward seasonal levels, and Sunday looks to be the warmest day of the stretch. Expect afternoon highs reaching into the lower to mid-70s along the plains, with 60s possible even in the warmer mountain valleys. It’ll be a great weekend for any outdoor plans, with plenty of sunshine and light winds.
Early next week should stay mild and pleasant as the pattern flattens out, bringing mostly sunny skies and comfortable fall weather. Some earlier forecasts hinted at a cool-down Monday, but the latest guidance now keeps things relatively steady. So, for now, expect a continued run of dry, quiet weather and highs holding in the 60s and 70s well into next week — a perfect stretch to enjoy the last few days of October.
