DENVER -- You may have just started thinking about snow tires or chains after the first snowfall of the season in Colorado, but a Denver-based company is hoping you'll go for a sock instead.
An AutoSock, that is.
Distributed by Denver-based company, the AutoSock is at least 10 percent more effective when compared to chains, according to information from their website.
"It's a really nice lightweight insurance policy to have in your trunk when you need it for that kind of situation," said Ian McGee, owner of the McGee company.
The AutoSock is sold across several stores throughout the state and is approved by the Colorado Department of Transportation "as the only named alternative traction device to chains that is acceptable within the state."
