A multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Thornton had traffic backed up for at least three miles, according to an official with the Thornton Police Department.
The crash was reported in the area of southbound I-25 near 84th Avenue at around 2 p.m. Traffic was backed up to at least 104th Avenue, authorities said on Twitter early Saturday afternoon.

The crash involved four cars in two separate instances, according to Thornton police spokesperson Matt Barnes. Information as to what caused the crash has not been released yet. All four vehicles were towed from the scene.
Denver7 was not immediately able to confirm if anyone was injured in the multi-vehicle crash.
The roads were back open by 3:18 p.m.
