Both directions of Interstate 70 have reopened between Denver and Kansas.
The Colorado Department of Transportation reopened all lanes shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
I-70 and numerous highways across the Eastern Plains were closed late Monday because of blowing and drifting snow with whiteout conditions.
By late Tuesday afternoon many of those roadways were reopening. The Elizabeth Fire Protection District was warning drivers that the wind was still blowing and the roads were snow-covered.
CDOT has reopened Highway 86. The winds are still blowing and roads are still snow covered so be careful driving. https://t.co/EV1TFkJZ5W
