The eastbound lanes of I-70 reopened at Silverthorne just after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The road was closed because of heavy traffic delays, CDOT said.
Crews closed the lanes for about an hour and a half.

CDOT reported earlier in the day that there were long delays from Silverthorne to east of the Eisenhower Tunnel. Road conditions are icy and large amounts of drivers are traveling for the holiday.
While I-70 is open now, there is a significant amount of congestion.
The chain law is in effect on I-70 for passenger vehicles.
There aren't any reports of injuries or serious wrecks.
CDOT already tweeted that U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass is closed because of the conditions. CDOT had advised HAZMAT crews to use I-70.
