Tolls will start Wednesday on the final segment of the U.S. 36 Express Lanes -- Superior/Louisville to Boulder.

For the last few weeks, toll collection for this portion of the highway was waived while tolling equipment was tested. However, the testing ends Tuesday and toll collection begins Wednesday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The US 36 Express Lanes are open from Federal Boulevard to Table Mesa in Boulder. However, construction crews are still working in the area on what officials called weather-sensitive items, such as landscaping.

Drivers wanting to use the lane have two ways to pay. They can set up a pre-paid account and get a switchable pass that allows them to use the lanes for free when carpooling or pay a toll when driving solo. Or drivers can use the lane and have a bill sent to the address of their license plate registration.

Learn more, and see the toll rates, on the Express Lanes website.
