Northbound I-25 reopens near Castle Rock after rock truck overturns

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. – An overturned rock truck left the northbound lanes of I-25 closed between Larkspur and Castle Rock Thursday morning for nearly two hours.

The crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. Colorado State Patrol said initially the highway would be closed "for hours." Traffic was diverted onto the frontage road while the road was closed.

CSP says three vehicles were involved in the crash, and that two people were transported to area hospitals afterward. Cameras at the scene showed at least one vehicle other than the rock-hauler was involved.

After several front-loaders were brought into the remove the rocks, the roadway was once again open by 11:20 a.m.
