Kaiser Permanente's Colfax Marathon is this Sunday and thousands of people are expected to attend, which is why officials with Denver Public Works are warning residents of possible traffic impacts this weekend.
"In order to provide a safe environment for those who are participating in the races, there will be temporary traffic impacts and rolling closures along Colfax Avenue on Sunday, May 15," a DPW official said in a statement, adding that the roads would reopen once the streets are safe for athletes, spectators and drivers.
Interstate 25 will be open and officials say it will be the best available option if your going north or south.
