DENVER – If you’re just coming back from the holidays and noticed gas prices going down, you’re not alone.
Drivers across the state are paying an average of $2.24 per gallon this week, according to a new report from AAA Colorado.
The demand for gas is expected to dwindle this month, further driving down gas prices, the report states, following the busy holiday travel season.
The $2.24 price tag on the gallon is seven cents cheaper than it was a week ago, and 24 cents less expensive than this time last year, data from AAA Colorado shows.
Colorado’s gas prices are also lower than the national average, which currently stands at $2.25. Nine states across the country saw gas prices fall below $2 per gallon.
AAA Colorado reports gas prices for drivers in the Rocky Mountain region have dropped steadily over the past week, with increased refinery runs boosting our regional supply.
