6:10 p.m.: Eastbound I-70 is back open at Silverthorne, CSP Eagle officials say. 

5:18 p.m.: CSP Eagle officials say I-70 eastbound will reopen within the hour. 

4:44 p.m.: The following shelters are currently open for drivers stuck on I-70 in Summit County: 

1. Summit Middle School, 158 School Rd. in Frisco.

2.  Silverthorne Recreation Center, 430 Rainbow Dr. in Silverthorne.  

4:37 p.m.: CSP Eagle officials have reopened the shelter at Summit Middle School, located at 158 School Road in Frisco, for travelers stranded in the treacherous roads up in the high country. 

4:28 p.m.: EB I-70 closed at Silverthorne exit due to "about 15 spun out vehicles" six miles east of Silverthorne, CDOT says.  

3:27 p.m.: Stranded drivers in Summit County are asked to get to the Silverthorne Recreation Center for shelter, 430 Rainbow Drive in Silverthorne.  

3:22 p.m.: All lanes of Highway 82 at Aspen Village closed due to an injury accident, Pitkin County Sheriff's Office says. 

2:43 p.m.: Westbound I-70 is back open from at US 40 Empire/Berthoud Pass junction, CSP Golden officials say.   

2:12 p.m.: CSP Eagle officials say the opening of an emergency shelter at Summit Middle School has been postponed as they anticipate to have EB I-70 back open shortly. 

2:03 p.m.: An emergency shelter in Summit County has been opened for stranded drivers at Summit Middle School, 158 School Road in Frisco, Colorado, CSP Eagle officials say.  

1:16 p.m.: These are just some of the traffic conditions travelers in the high country are experiencing (see video below): 

12:49 p.m.: CSP Eagle says EB closure of I-70 at the Frisco exit will extend back to Main Vail at mile marker 176. 

12:32 p.m.: I-70 EB closed at the Frisco exit due to a large multi-car crash involving a semi at mile marker 204, per CSP Eagle. 

12:30 p.m.: I-70 westbound is closed at US 40 Empire/Berthoud Pass junction (mile marker 232) due to severe conditions, per CSP - Golden.
