DENVER -- A total of 308 drunk drivers were arrested over the Halloween weekend, a Colorado Department of Transportation spokesperson said Tuesday, an uptick from the 269 arrests made the year prior.

Ninety-four agencies participated in the DUI enforcement period, according to Sam Cole, a CDOT spokesperson.

The following numbers were released from several agencies:

  • Colorado State Patrol: 50 arrests
  • Denver Police: 30 arrests
  • Aurora Police: 27 arrests
  • Colorado Springs Police: 26 arrests

Arrests from other areas across the state are available here

“Impaired driving is an issue that law enforcement will continue to take very seriously,” said Col. Scott Hernandez, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol. “Driving under the influence will be enforced until there are zero impaired drivers on Colorado roadways. The more sober drivers, the more lives are saved.”

The Heat Is On returns Nov. 23 for a Thanksgiving holiday enforcement. Last year, 283 drivers were arrested during the heightened patrol, Cole said.
