COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Springs City Council voted Thursday night to delay a decision on appeals involving Project Taurus, a proposed data center planned for the former Intel microchip facility near Garden of the Gods Road and Centennial Boulevard.
In the meeting , a consensus could not be reached, as many council members had further questions surrounding the power purchase agreement and noise in the proposed area of the center.
Council voted 7-2 to postpone the appeals decision until April 13, 2027. An original motion was on the table to hold the decision in March so as not to drag the process out; that motion failed.
During the meeting Thursday, three people were escorted out by Colorado Springs police for causing what they say was a disturbance during the special meeting.
