DENVER -- Instagram, the photo sharing app that allows you snap a photo and instantaneously share it with the world, continues to grow in popularity, even here in Colorado.
Some are taking it more seriously, sharing their craft and gaining thousands of followers.
Denver7 caught up with three local photographers: Angela Vega-Fields, Brandon Tormanen and Austin Cameron Smith. They have close to 50,000 followers and counting between the three of them and for a good reason -- their skill behind the camera and their love for Colorado's landscape.
All three take snapping a photo of a Colorado sunrise or sunset to a whole different level. They'll hike to a perfect spot in the high country right after a snowstorm just to get that perfect shot.
"I utilize it [Instagram] just to share what I enjoy," said Vega-Fields. "If people like my pictures, great! If not, that's okay too."
Smith moved to Colorado from Atlanta a few years ago. His Instagram following has skyrocketed over the past year or so. He said there's a process to getting a hefty following. It all starts with marketing and contacting people who are doing the same thing.
"You do that through hashtags, through finding other communities and reaching out to them," he said.
Tormanen has a large and growing set of followers as well. He told The NOW Denver it isn't always easy getting that perfect shot.
"It's a beautiful place to live," said Tormanen. "At the same time you have to work for it for a lot of the locations here and that's nice."
Tormanen has his own advice for getting uber popular on Instagram.
"Be yourself. Take whatever your craft is and perfect it," he said.
