The Cast Of ‘Modern Family’ Recreated A Photo From 10 Years Ago And It’s Adorable

It’s crazy to imagine our weekly television routine without “Modern Family” in it. But that’s going to be a thing soon. Sadly, the popular sitcom is in its 11th and final season.

To celebrate more than a decade of their lives together, however, the main cast members recreated a photo that was taken 10 years prior and seeing it makes us go awwww…

Sofia Vergara posted the two pics to her Instagram account and, wow, the kids have really grown up. And while the adults have aged, too, they’ve aged beautifully:

Noticeably different is the addition of actress Aubrey Frances Anderson-Emmons, who plays Lily. The actress was born only two years before the show launched!

Anderson-Emmons has basically grown up on the “Modern Family” set — she joined the show when it was in its third season. Thanks to her role on the show, she was the youngest star to stroll the red carpet at the 2012 and 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The baby version of the Lily character was played by a set of twins.

Missing from the recently recreated photo is the actor who plays Jay and Gloria’s son, Joe. Jeremy Maguire’s absence isn’t explained in the caption, but fans commenting on it were asking about him.

Here is the young actor with Rico Rodriguez, who plays his older brother Manny:

They’re so cute! We’ll miss seeing these two grow up together on the show.

When the recreated cast photo was taken, it was the day of the final table reading for the performers. What a bittersweet moment as they embark on taping their final season together, knowing that all good things must come to an end.

“Modern Family” has consistently been a top-rated TV show throughout its long run. It’s crazy to think that the creators almost launched it as an animated series! Yes, animated. They worried it wouldn’t appeal to children!

We’re glad they took a different route and gave us more than a decade of this amazing, beautiful family. We’re going to miss you, Pritchetts and Dunphys!
